I've posted over at Sarah Raven's blog, Garlic and Sapphire today about a couple of places on the way to Dottycookie's house where I got out of the car and found a surprisingly wonderful diversity of wildflowers by the side of the road. Our verges are, in effect, roadside meadows and their careful management may help to replace some of our lost habitats.
