Kat is holding a month-long celebration of crochet over at her place. It's an introduction to slip knots, yarn, making woolly loops into fabric with a stick - everything you need to know to begin.
There will be sumptuous, free, downloadable patterns (the first one is already up), gentle step-by-step guides, trouble-shooting - the whole hooky nine yards. There are even crochet camp kits (although I think there may only be one or two left). You can read more here.
